There are two types of Attributes and all characters have them: Primary Attributes and Derived Attributes. Primary Attributes are able to be improved through the expenditure of Character Points while Derived Attributes are not - though improving a Primary Attribute will also improve its dependent Derived Attributes.

[edit] Primary Attributes

Each character has six core Primary Attributes. Each Primary Attribute serves a different function, and all skills are tied to an attribute (known as the Controlling Attribute). Primary Attributes are extremely important.

[edit] Strength

A character's Strength is a measure of his or her raw physical health and overall strength.

While the character's Strength attribute has the fewest dependent skills, it also has the most tied Derived Attributes - Endurance and Health, primarily.

[edit] Dexterity

A character's Dexterity attribute defines how competent he is at using his hands. This attribute is primary for many crafting skills as well as for attacks made with Ranged Weapons.

Dexterity has no derived attributes.

[edit] Agility

The Agility attribute represents how well the character controls his entire body - how well he moves within space. Agility is one of the most important combat attributes as it determines defense as well as the character's attack abilities with Close Combat Weapons.

Agility has no derived attributes.

[edit] Intelligence

The Intelligence attribute measures how adept the character is at grasping intellectual concepts and how proficient he or she is at making conclusions. Intelligence is used in all manner of skills, and is especially important to those wishing to embark upon engineering or magickal career paths.

Intelligence has no derived attributes.

[edit] Perception

A character's Perception score determines how aware he or she is to her environment. Higher scores in Perception mean better results when searching or tracking. Further, the higher the character's Perception, the less likely he or she will be surprised or ambushed.

Perception has no derived attributes.

[edit] Willpower

A character's Willpower is a raw measure of his or her mental "strength." This is an extremely important attribute for characters who utilize magicks, as it is from this attribute that Mana is derived.

[edit] Derived Attributes

Derived Attributes are secondary attributes whose values are directly tied to the value of the character's Primary Attributes. When the Primary Attribute increases (or decrease), so do any derived attributes tied to it.

[edit] Endurance

A character's Endurance is a measure of how much activity he or she can perform before becoming tired. Every action requires the consumption of Endurance points, but Endurance is continually regenerated. If a character performs too many actions in too short a time period (exhausting his Endurance), he or she must wait a short while for Endurance to regenerate.

A character's Maximum Endurance is tied to his Strength attribute, as is his Endurance Recovery rate.

[edit] Health

A character's Health score is a measure of how much physical injury he or she can take before dying. Each injury the character sustains reduces his Health score. If this score reaches 0, he or she is dead.

Upon death (reaching a Health score of 0 or lower), the character's body immediately disintegrates and is sucked into the Corruption dimension, where it is processed for later resurrection in a Resurrection Pit.

A character's Maximum Health is derived from his Strength score, as is his Healing Rate. Characters will slowly regenerate Health points, but this is a slow process (which can be sped up by eating food or using magick).

[edit] Mana

A character's Mana score is a raw measure of his or her attunement to magickal forces. Using magick - such as casting spells - consumes Mana points. If a character runs out of Mana points, he or she is unable to perform magickal activity.

A character's Maximum Mana is derived from his Willpower score, as is his Mana Regeneration Rate. Characters will slowly regenerate Mana points (faster than Health but slower than Endurance).

[edit] Secondary Attributes

Secondary Attributes are attributes which have values set independent of player choice. The values of these attributes will change due to activity in the game, but cannot be bought or sold.

[edit] Corruption

A character's Corruption score is indicative of the amount of Corruption the character has been exposed to. The higher a character's Corruption attribute, the closer he or she is to being lost to the Daemon masters of the Corruption.

Corruption can be accrued through several means:

Corruption can be removed as through various means, such as atonement, certain Spells, and types of Food.
