Belgica is the name of a large island within the Terracopian archipelago. It is located north of Catala and north west of Aquitania.
Technically, there are over twenty sovereign states located on the shores of Belgica. However, all but two of these are part of the Small Nobles - a series of independent fiefdoms with little government or population. The island is home to two larger states, however:
- The Kingdom of Normandy, in the west.
- The South Brux, in the south east.
[edit] Government and Population
Two major sovereign states make their homes on the island:
[edit] The Kingdom of Normandy
The Kingdom of Normandy is the largest state on the island and covers the western half of the island. A hereditary monarchy, it has a population of 800,000 souls.
[edit] South Brux
[edit] Small Nobles
The term Small Nobles refers to a collection of minor fiefdoms located in the central and northeastern part of the island. Most of the small nobles are nothing more than walled townships or small castles with a few acres of owned land farmed by a serfs.
The small nobles are often used as political "cut out" targets by larger states, and war between any two of the nobles may be (often correctly) interpreted as proxy warfare between two larger nations.
[edit] Demographics
Belgica as a whole contains 2 million people of various species, mostly Human with a sizable Dwarf population as well.
[edit] Geography
Belgica is almost entirely composed of light, rolling hills. It has a few lakes, but no major rivers.
